Liberal Media Bias and the Myth of White Racism
Several Inverted World articles have dealt with anti-white, or “leukophobic,” bias in the media’s treatment of the war on terror, Vietnam veterans, and the Duke Rape Scandal. However, a comprehensive perspective on liberal media bias on race has been lacking. Fortunately, William McGowan’s Coloring the News: How Crusading for Diversity Has Corrupted American Journalism, by far the most penetrating and thorough treatment of liberal media bias, provides the basis for such a perspective. New action alert on John McCain and affirmative action
John McCain, the candidate that pro-whites love to hate, recently gave me a pleasant surprise when he endorsed Ward Connerly’s ballot initiative in Arizona to end affirmative action there. The new Inverted World action alert contains a sample e-mail message that you can send to McCain congratulating him for taking this courageous stance and encouraging him to make ending affirmative action a central plank in his campaign. The Affirmative Action Hoax
Steven Farron’s The Affirmative Action Hoax is, to my knowledge, the most thorough and uncompromising exposé of affirmative action in higher education. As many other writers have done, he provides copious evidence that universities discriminate against whites on a massive scale. However, unlike most critics of racial preferences, Farron examines his subject from a race realist perspective that acknowledges the reality of biological differences in intelligence among the races. This perspective enables him to see clearly how flimsy all the arguments commonly made in favor of affirmative action are. Farron also recognizes that the dogma of racial equality that underlies affirmative action inevitably leads to the corruption of academic standards. Full article • 9 comments
Ibn Warraq’s Defense of the West
Previous articles on the Inverted World have argued that some of the distinctive characteristics of Western culture are openness to new and foreign ideas, the capacity for self-criticism, and the drive to discover the objective truth about the world. In his erudite book Defending the West: A Critique of Edward Said’s Orientalism, Ibn Warraq, a Pakistani expatriate now living in Europe, paints in brilliant color the portrait of the West that my articles only tentatively sketched. On top of that, the book delivers a powerful blow to leukophobia, or the fear and loathing of the white race, by demolishing the theory of Orientalism developed by Edward Said, the late Columbia University professor, pro-Palestinian activist, and guru of the destructive class. New Action Alert on McCain and the NCLR
Yesterday, Sen. John McCain endorsed anti-white racial hatred by speaking before National Council of La Raza. Additionally, he pledged support for illegal alien amnesty. In this week’s action alert, I’ve written two sample e-mails: one for McCain chiding him for accepting this speaking engagement, and another for conservative commentators asking them to make an issue of McCain’s pandering to far left Hispanic activists. Are Jews Really Hypocritical?
Kevin MacDonald’s theories about the causes and consequences of Jewish intellectual movements are one of the dogmas of racial right and paleoconservative intellectuals. As I explain in my article about his Culture of Critique, MacDonald thinks that Jews promote multiculturalist, anti-Western—in short, leukophobic—doctrines that undermine white Gentile racial pride and identity in order to weaken Gentile resistance to the Jewish pursuit of power. Jews are hypocrites in MacDonald’s view because they support Jewish nationalism while undermining Gentile nationalism. As he says, Jews “[oppose] the idea that the United States ought to be a European nation,” but “have been strong supporters of Israel as a nation of Jewish people” (Culture of Critique, p. xxxiv). New Writing Schedule
I’ve decided that my resolution to publish at least one blog entry every weekday, which I’ve been fairly faithful to since January, was probably a bad idea. On rereading them, I’ve found too many of my daily blurbs show signs of haste and do not achieve the precision and trenchancy that I aspire to in my writings. Also, the energy I’ve had to put into daily commentary has delayed my composition of full-length articles. So I’m going to slow down and see how that works out. My tentative project is to publish at least one weekly column of around 1,000 words every Friday and an action alert most weeks. I may or may not publish other brief items as well. Race is Not Just Skin Deep
A standard canard of race deniers is to cast scorn on the idea that biological races can be defined genetically. You will often hear the chattering class assert that racial differences are only skin deep and that commonsensical racial classifications, such as black, white, Asian, and so forth, do not designate meaningful genetic groups.
