Protest Corporate Funding of the NAACP

This week’s action alert asks readers to protest corporate funding of the NAACP. Despite his record of slander against whites, Jeremiah Wright was invited to speak at an NAACP dinner held in Detroit on Sunday night. The president of the Detroit NAACP chapter had nothing but kind words for Wright, who also received a standing ovation. I’ve written up a sample e-mail that you can send to the NAACP’s corporate sponsors and included contact information for them. Please do your part by sending my e-mail or one of your own composition.

Dear Sir or Madam:

I demand that your corporation end its sponsorship of the NAACP. While the organization claims to be a “champion of social justice,” its support of disgraced pastor Jeremiah Wright proves that it does not believe in treating American whites justly.

Not only did the NAACP sponsor Wright as its speaker at an event in Detroit on April 27, but the local NAACP chapter president publicly praised him. By doing so, the NAACP legitimated Wright’s outrageous anti-white slanders.

As is well known to anyone who has been paying attention to the news in the past few months, in his sermons at Chicago’s Trinity Church, Wright claimed that:

  • the US government created AIDs as a means of genocide against people of color;
  • white doctors injected blacks with syphilis;
  • the government had foreknowledge of the Pearl Harbor attacks;
  • the Los Angeles Police Department plants weapons in order to make arrests.

Wright has designated “white America” the “US of KKKA.” Additionally, Wright’s church gave an award to Louis Farrakhan, whose organization, the Nation of Islam, has urged violence against whites and promoted the kind of conspiracy theories that Wright preaches in his church.

Despite the fact that Wright has expressed no regret for making these statements and continues to defend them, Rev. Wendell Anthony, president of the Detroit NAACP chapter, praised Wright in his introductory remarks. Anthony called Wright the “hottest brother in America right now—outside of Barack Obama” and an “innovator and sustainer of the word of God.” Wright received a standing ovation from the audience.

The NAACP has been promoting the demonization of whites for years. In 2006, NAACP president Julian Bond said, “The Republican Party would have the American flag and the swastika flying side by side.” During the debate over the California Civil Rights Initiative in 1996, the NAACP sponsored ads linking opponents of affirmative action like Pete Wilson, then the governor of California, and Newt Gingrich to the KKK.

Given this history, it is irresponsible for your corporation to continue to donate to the NAACP. I will think twice before using your products and services until you end your sponsorship of anti-white hatred.

Sincerely,

Corporate Contacts

If you look at the sponsors listed for NAACP events (see here and here, for example), it seems that there are few corporations that do not fund the NAACP. Below I’ve given listed just a few of the NAACP’s sponsors along with links to the appropriate e-mail addresses and contact forms. Please send the message above to all of the contacts below. Feel free to snoop around the NAACP website for further corporate contacts.

I do not have Outlook and have no plans to install it. I use another email. The companies above that have Outlook open when you click on it I could not send my own email to defund the NAACP. If you could post the email address itself or some other method myself and others could be more active.

Thank you so much for gathering what you have. I sent to all but the Outlook companies.

OK, Breakneck, here are the e-mail addresses in the corporate contacts list:

comment@chevron.com, info@schottfoundation.org, alberto.c.canal@verizon.com,brian.c.malina@verizon.com, communityaffairs@wachovia.com, crreview@na.ko.com

That last one is for Coca-Cola. I’ll try to remember to write these out in future alerts even though it should not be necessary. The e-mail address links that I’ve included do not work just with Outlook. Rather, in Windows (and probably in Mac as well), clicking on an e-mail link will open up a new blank message to the appropriate address if you define a default e-mail program. Click on Help in the Start menu and search for “default e-mail.”

This is what AstraZeneca replied to me when I asked them to stop funding the NAACP:

Thank you for sharing your thoughts regarding our advertising. We appreciate your perspective and feedback.

In response to your concern, the company does not purchase advertisement space with the intention of condoning content specific to that organization. While I understand your displeasure with the placement of the ad, it is the sole intention of our consumer programs to provide education and information to consumers.

Once again, I thank you for sharing your comments.

If we can further assist you, please contact the Information Center at AstraZeneca at 1-800-236-9933, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. ET, excluding holidays. Sincerely,

Cecille Goodman Information Center at AstraZeneca

I replied:

So In other words, your company would purchase advertising space from terrorists that need funding to attack the United States but that doesn’t matter because you dont care what actually is going on behind the scenes?

Thanks for trying, Breakneck. The more of these they get, the harder it will be to blow us off.
