Tell your US representative to support the SAVE Act

Today’s action alert asks readers to e-mail their US representatives in support of the SAVE Act (H.R. 4088), a House bill designed to enforce immigration law.
Background: The SAVE Act, which was introduced by Rep. Heath Shuler of North Carolina, would:
- require employers to verify the legal status of all US workers or else pay hefty fines
- increase the number of border patrol agents and other immigration enforcement personnel
- strengthen border protection technology and infrastructure
- strengthen penalties for illegal alien smuggling.

148 representatives in the House have signed the SAVE Act. Go to the link and see if your representative is one of the signers; if he is, please thank him for it in the e-mail.
Unfortunately, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is trying to sabotage the SAVE Act by inserting provisions that would grant illegal aliens legal work permits and increase the number of visas available for legal immigration.
Below is a sample e-mail from a race realist perspective for you to send to your US representative. Most of the statistics about Hispanics contained in the letter are discussed in The Improvident Races. Instructions on sending are below. Thanks for doing your part.
Subject: Support the SAVE Act!
Body: Please sign the discharge petition on Rep. Heath Schuler’s Secure America with Verification and Enforcement (SAVE) Act (H.R. 4088) currently being circulated in the House. Additionally, please do everything in your power to maintain the integrity and ensure the passage of the act.
The act would require that employers verify the legal status of all workers and strengthen our borders. Such measures are very popular among voters: according to a Rasmussen poll taken during last year’s amnesty debate, 72 percent of Americans think border enforcement and immigration reduction are very important.
Not only must the bill be passed, but it must be protected from liberals who wish to weaken it. Nancy Pelosi has been working behind the scenes to attach increases in H-1 and H-2 visas and amnesty provisions to the bill. Please stand up for the American majority by protecting the SAVE Act from this sabotage.
I believe in tough measures against illegal immigration because I don’t think Hispanics are capable of assimilating into American society, and statistics compiled by government agencies and reputable researchers bear me out. Consider these facts:
- Only 52 percent of Hispanics graduate from high school, the lowest rate of any American ethnic group. (Source: Manhattan Institute for Policy Research)
- Hispanics whose families have been in the US for three generations or more are twice as likely as whites to be high school dropouts. The moral: Hispanics don’t assimilate. (National Center for Education Statistics)
- Hispanics, even those whose have been in America for three generations or more, are less than half as likely to graduate from college as whites. (National Center for Education Statistics)
- Hispanic men are more than three times more likely to be in prison than white men. (Bureau of Justice Statistics)
- Hispanics are 50 percent more likely than whites to have children out of wedlock. (National Center for Health Statistics)
- Immigrant households impose $200 in additional taxes on native households. High rates of Hispanic welfare use are the major reason. For example, 34 percent of Mexican immigrant households use welfare. (Harvard professor George J. Borjas)
If America is to retain her prosperity and her pride of place among nations, we need a population that can live up to the high standards that made this country great. We need educated and morally responsible taxpayers, not more criminals, high school dropouts, and welfare users.
And that means we need to encourage Hispanics to leave.
