A New Kind of Activism

By Ian Jobling • 2/26/08

Yesterday, I sent an e-mail to my Congressman, as did some of my readers to theirs, that might have caused consternation and surprise in the staffer assigned to read communications from constituents. The message came from the first action alert I’ve published on The Inverted World, which called on readers to protest the new amnesty plan that is being hatched by Nancy Pelosi and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus. The conclusion of the e-mail read as follows:

If America is to continue to be the most powerful and prosperous nation in the world, we need a population that can live up to the high standards that made this country great. We need an educated and morally responsible citizenry, not criminals, high school dropouts, and welfare users. And that means we need to encourage Hispanics to leave, not to stay.

Of course, all of our Congressmen have gotten thousands of messages protesting amnesty. The immigration reduction group NumbersUSA alone convinced Americans to send more than a million faxes during last year’s amnesty debate.

However, you won’t find any messages like mine on NumbersUSA. Their faxes deal with the negative impact of immigration on jobs, the environment, national security, and so forth. My e-mail protested amnesty on the grounds that Hispanic immigrants are basically different from whites, an idea that NumbersUSA unambiguously rejects.

This e-mail, then, initiated the kind of race realist activism that I know many of you fiercely desire. During my six years of administering race realist discussion groups and websites, I don’t know how many comments I’ve seen pointing out the futility of online discussions without political action. People would write in exasperation that we should stop posting on websites and do something.

I agree, so now I’m helping you to do something.

So far the response has hardly been overwhelming: despite the fact that about 500 people visit this website every day, only five have written me saying that they sent the message. Where are all the rest of you?

The action alerts that I will put up in the coming weeks are a small first step towards creating an effective race realist activism. If I see enough interest in them, I will invest in the kind of technologically advanced messaging system that NumbersUSA uses. Once we get to that point, we might begin to be noticed.

But that will never happen unless you take the first step.

Another thing: it is crucial that you tell me, either through a comment on this site or privately if you send the e-mail to Congress. Please do this so I can gauge interest in this sort of activism.

For more on my plans for activism, see Humility and the West, A Philosophy for Activism, and My Activism Experiment Will Begin Soon.

If you have any suggestions about the tone, style, or subject matter of the alert, I’m all ears. Please comment.

Ian Jobling justifiably queries:

“So far the response has hardly been overwhelming: despite the fact that about 500 people visit this website every day, only five have written me saying that they sent the message. Where are all the rest of you?”

Indeed, even though I didn’t do it last night (due technical problems,) I did just send a slightly personalized version of this letter to my Congress Critter. The alterations simply amounted to changing the second paragraph from:

“We expect you to oppose this plan. In fact, we would be thrilled if you gave the people behind this mischief a dose of your mind on the House floor.”

To,

“I expect you to oppose this plan. In fact, I would be thrilled if you gave the people behind this mischief a dose of your mind on the House floor.”

I did this since I represent no organization, nor am I royalty; so to me, it read more correct grammatically. Other than that, I had absolutely no problem with sending my US Representative a copy of this. It is an excellent expression of how I feel on the topic, simply because it does address the racial aspects of “immigration” by marauding alien invaders and refuses to skirt the issue. Why should we, that is the ox we wish to gore after all, correct?

Moreover, I hit the yes icon that was marked, “would you like a response?”

Indeed, I would like a response; even if it is the expected form letter, so what? It might be fun to do a quick IW blog entry on my reactions and thoughts on it. Or better still, to toss out my proposed/possible rebuttal to it or portions of it, for review by my peers here at IW.

In the end, as Dr. Jobling points out we really have everything to lose by not sending it in; if we refuse to send our views into our public servants, how can we expect them to at a minimum, at least consider them in their political equations?

After all, God will not help those who will not help themselves!

John PM,

Thanks for helping out. You were absolutely right to make the I/we change that you did, and I’ve now incorporated that change into the letter.

Perhaps the response is slow because people do not believe these messages will be read at all in the first place. I’m afraid calling this ‘activism’ makes me laugh. To be active you need to take in your face active measures. Your actions must be visible. They must be seen. You must go out there and make the CNN film and report your actions whether they like it or not! Like Bob Marley said ’ you a go tired to see we face’ Who cares about your e-mailed messages. They need to see your FACE

White America, to save your country, you must march!! Those who are taking over your country first marched in order to get the advantages they now enjoy. If you want your country back you have to have the courage and fortitude to do what they did. Remember Newton said ‘action and reaction are equal and opposite’. There are no convenient, mouse clicking, ‘sit in your airconditioned room’ measures to fight for your country. This is no activism. Active people go out there and stand IN FRONT OF THE WORLD for their beliefs !!!

No, seven messages, which is where the total now stands, won’t make any difference. They may be read, but probably not by anyone important.

If a Congressman gets one of our messages, he can just dismiss it as the work of a crank. If gets 10 of those messages, that’s much harder to do. If he gets 100, he might start paying attention to us. Also, we might get publicity.

Yes, I suspect you’re right that whites are going to have to march in the streets before attitudes about race change. The question is how to make that happen. Do you have any suggestions?

I sent the email.

Why don’t you make public opinion polls for Inverted World readers to see how many would participate in future activist projects?

Thomas777,

A poll is an excellent idea, but it does involve finding polling software, learning how to use it, etc. Can anyone help me there?

Ian, I’ve suggested before, setting up European-American lodges, or clubs. This could help focus attention on local issues as well as provide a social and networking opportunity for white Americans.

William of OC,

It would be possible for me to facilitate your project. Basically, what you need to form these clubs is local organizers whose contact information would be publicly available so that people who are interested in the clubs can get in touch with them. I can certainly assist in making the contact info of local organizers publicly available, either through a contact sheet on IW or through a forum designed to put race realists in touch with each other. Is anyone else interested in doing this?
