Illegalizing Britain
By • 3/11/08A recent article at FrontPage Magazine describes how political correctness and fear of Muslim retaliation are deforming British culture. The British authorities have criminalized displays of national pride, surrendered to Islamic paranoia and bigotry, and sanctioned practices that undermine Western culture. The impression one gets is that, whenever there is a dispute between Britons and Muslims, the authorities regularly side with the latter.
Here are a few examples of actions that have been taken to accommodate Muslims:
- In 2006, an English city threatened to rescind the licenses of taxicab drivers who displayed the Union Jack on their cars.
- In 2005, the British government banned prison guards from wearing tie pins displaying the St. George’s cross, the flag of England.
- A pub owner was ordered to remove an English flag from her pub.
- Some British schools are ceasing to teach the Holocaust in history classes because Muslims think it is a Zionist fabrication.
- British courts have effectively legalized polygamy.
- Rowan Williams, Archbishop of Canterbury, the highest office in the Anglican church, has called for sharia law to be recognized in Britain.
- Clerics have suggested changing Britain’s national saint from St. George to St. Alban on the grounds that the former, usually portrayed as a knight in armor, looks too much like a Crusader.
It’s scary reading.

Many factors, political social, and economic, contribute to the state of affairs (accurately) described by Ian Jobling and Dr D. To pick out just one or two considerations is, of course, an oversimplification. But here goes.
(1). In Britain, liberal guilt has been institutionalized. (2). The British people have an extraordinarily feeble sense of their nationality and cultural identity.
In its British manifestation, lefty-liberal guilt is characterized not only by the egalitarian project found in the “intellectual community” everywhere else, but also a unique self-reproach associated with the rise and fall of the British empire. This self-reproach might be called “imperial contrition”. (It need not be emphasized that the British government, bureaucracy, law, media, and social institutions are dominated by people with liberal ideals).
Sixty years ago, the Labour government of the day passed an Act of Contrition; it is called the British Nationality Act 1948, and gave British subject status to the people of the British Empire/Commonwealth. It could be described as a consolation prize for the colonial peoples who had been “exploited” for the sake of British interests. This is the legal loophole through which millions of immigrants (mainly from Pakistan) have poured into the UK.
That such a torrent of people from alien cultures would transform British society was never considered as a threat by the liberal intelligentsia. It was simply assumed that a multicultural society could be created in which everyone would share British values. But Muslim immigrants, as we all know, tend not to adopt the values of the host nation - with the exception, arguably, of America.
Liberal assumptions about mass immigration were wrong and troubles have multiplied, so excuses have to be made. These excuses take the form of blaming British people for their “racism” whenever unwarranted liberties, which Muslims are taking, are opposed. To explain the reasons for the feeble sense of British cultural identity would try the patience of any reader here. So it must suffice to say that the success of the authorities in accommodating Muslim demands, is predicated on the lack of resistance of a people who have nearly lost all sense of who they are.

Dr. Jobling has only begun to scratch the surface of the iceberg here. There are countless examples all over the Internet of cases where British authorities have capitulated to the muzlims, often without even being asked to do so. The Gates of Vienna and Brussels Journal are two places where you can regularly read about these horrible betrayals in England and all over Europe. GalliaWatch specifically reports the situation in France. The situation is worse in Sweden than it is in England, if that is possible.
The good thing that you can read from time to time at those to sites is about the resistance to izlamic imperialism, particularly being waged in Denmark. This one tiny country may be the one to save all of Europe by leading the way back to sanity. Leadership will never come from one of the large countries like England, France, Germany, Spain, or Italy.
In all the countries of Europe, the leadership, and therefore the sitting governments, are petrified with the fear of violence posed by the muzlims. this leads them to be willing to do anything, absolutely anything, to placate these animals. This includes giving away their entire countries, their freedom, and their national treasure. The are petrified with fear. They don’t want to take the responsibility for the blood shed that will inevitably follow from standing up to these creatures. So they give away everything and stand logic and reason completely on their heads.
In the past, men of honor and integrity would have simply said, “No,” and would have fought to the death to stop this foolishness. Today’s people have gone soft, both physically and morally. They are unwilling to do what it takes to be free, so they are fully entitled to be slaves and that is their future. It is our future also if we do not take the warning, stand up and begin to act NOW!
