At the beginning of the month, I wrote that we realists need a new name for our enemy. The problem with the term “liberal” is that it suggests that the enemy is in favor of freedom, an inversion of the truth. I eventually settled on “diversity authoritarianism” as the best term for the evil that rules the world, but now, a month later, I have to admit that it will not do at all.
I ran into the limitations of “diversity authoritarianism” when I tried to describe the political worldview of John McCain. A scarlet thread runs through many of the man’s pet issues—amnesty, global warming, and Guantanamo Bay hysteria—and it is this thread that I am anxious to name. Diversity authoritarianism won’t cut it though: it would be nonsensical to use this term to designate moonbat environmentalism, so I fell back on “liberal,” and apologized.
The problem was that the phenomenon I seek to name is much broader than mere diversity authoritarianism. Rather, the scarlet thread is fear and loathing of the white race. The heirs of the Frankfurt school and the 1960s youth movement, those who fret over nativism, global warming, and the infliction of mild discomfort on Islamic terrorists do so because they see these phenomena as confirmation of their most deeply cherished theory: that whites are the race of intolerance, greed, sadism, and xenophobia. After all, why else would Al Gore single out America as the worst environmental offender in the world when that dishonor belongs to China? Why else would the press print as truth ridiculous rumors about American misbehavior in Guantanamo Bay?
So we need a term that designates fear and loathing of the white race. It’s not too hard to invent one, although it strikes an odd tone at first. It’s leukophobia, derived from leukos, the Greek word meaning “white” and “fair in color,” and phobia, which, of course, means fear and loathing.
The term has drawbacks, of course, which is why I didn’t push it after raising it as a possibility in the original Naming the Enemy post. Neologisms are generally to be avoided, and “leukophobia” unfortunately reminds one of leukemia. However, the term does designate the great evil with admirable precision. When I say that McCain’s pet issues show his leukophobic tendencies, you know what I mean.
And no other term will do. Readers sent in various suggestions, but none of them satisfy me. Terms like “multicultist,” “racial authoritarian,” “racial Marxist,” and so forth fall prey to the same problem as diversity authoritarian: it is nonsensical to apply them to moonbat environmentalism and other manifestations of leukophobia. Besides, many of these terms attribute to leukophobes sins that they are not guilty of. John McCain isn’t likely to die in a mass cult suicide, and he doesn’t talk at all like Lenin. “Europhobia” is better, but it will inevitably be taken to mean fear of Europeans, rather than whites as a whole.
Another advantage of “leukophobia” is that it teams up nicely with a counterpart word formed on the same principle: chromophilia, or love of color. Leukophobia and chromophilia are two sides of the same coin. Leukophobes are not only eager to see the sins of whites, but to hide and apologize for those of non-whites. The racial politics of Law & Order, for example, is grounded both in leukophobia and chromophilia. The final kicker: those suffering from chromophilia are chromophiliacs, a word which has distinct and highly appropriate overtones of perversion and dementia.
So, there we have it. I devote myself forthwith to battle the twin demons of leukophobia and chromophilia. Do the rest of you share my feeling that I have finally discovered the enemy’s true names?

Julia…I tend to think it wouldn’t take too long for the term “leukophobia” to become part of the lexicon of those invested in our struggle. Indeed, it didn’t take very long for the term “xenophobe” to become part of the lefts arsenal of weapons to shout down those who support immigration reform. In fact, I can’t get through a news program on CNN, MSNBC, or FOX without hearing someone throw around the term “xenophobe”. I think the term fit nicely Ian…now we need it repeated and defined so often people have the same visceral response as they do with “xenophobe”.

“One major problem with “leukophobia” is that the term needs explanation. We need a name that makes intuitive sense. I do not agree that a term for what we are up against should necessarily cover all conceivable opponents.”
julia makes a very good point. “Leukophobia” is accurate and will certainly resonate well with white preservationists; however, it lacks sting.
A simple and insulting slang word is also needed in addition to “Leukophobia.”. It needs to be simple and catchy so it can be easily directed specifically at white liberals. Something young people would want to use in order to keep each other in check. Blacks effectively use the terms “Oreo” and “Tom” (he a Tom!) to keep other blacks from straying too far off the plantation.
A possibility:
WAIDS - “White Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome.” An condition mainly acquired through PC brainwashing that renders a person of the white-race incapable of fending for his or her own racial/ethnic survival.
Waid - White person who has contracted WAIDS.
Waider - Any white person who is infected and actively practices or promotes the self immolating, ethno-masochistic, cowardly, symptoms produced by WAIDS.
Examples of people with full-blown-WAIDS - Ted Kennedy, the late Susan Sontag, Phil Donahue, (remember him?), Michael Moore, leadership of the NOW, etc.
I know “Waid” isn’t the best word, but you get the idea. Hopefully someone with more creativity than I do can come up with the ticket.

Ingenious: Leukophobia makes perfect sense (which homophobia, for instance, does not). Chromophiliac is especially inspired because of its sinister connotations.
Another useful neologism in the fight against the “blame America crowd” is oikophobia. It means repudiation of home and heritage.

A conservative writer has compiled this list of potential names for the enemy—I’ve copied it below. However, typically of a today’s conservatism, at no point does the man use the word “white” in the list.
Alienist – One who puts the interests of foreigners (aliens) before those of fellow citizens.
Ameriphobe – One who hates America.
Borderline Anarchist – One who undermines the rule of law by attacking the legitimacy of nationhood and borders.
Cheap Labor Baron – A member of the cheap labor interests who, like the old time robber barons, puts profits before any other consideration.
Ethno-masochist – One who hates his own ethnicity, usually for the purpose of claiming moral superiority.
Globaloney – The doctrines of globalism, which claim that the world will be a better place if ruled by our social and financial betters as One World.
Growth Glutton – A business advocate who pushing endless, mindless growth. For synonym: See Sprawlaholic.
Guilt Geek – One who morbidly obsesses about the historic guilt of his society, usually for the purpose of claiming moral superiority.
Hate Hype Viper – A critic, usually of reptilian character, who obsessively accuses his opponents of “hate.”
Jethrite – A social climber, often from the South or Midwest, who endorses mass immigration and other trendy causes to ingratiate himself with social elites. Derived from the character Jethro on the Beverly Hillbillies TV show who once stated, “I ain’t a hick like the rest of my kin. I’m sophisticated.”
Jones Clone – One driven by a death wish to destroy his country, culture, and civilization. Derived from Jim Jones, the mad social reformer who gave his followers poisoned kool-aid to drink.
Kochite – A politician who holds his constituents in contempt, particularly when they ask for less immigration. Derived from the statement of Ed Koch, former mayor of New York, who said that politicians should ignore the “mob” who want restriction and vote their “conscience.”
Mickey Marx Club – The congregation of far-leftist “social reformers” who view immigration as a splendid vehicle to push their radical agendas.
Multi-Cultist – A member of the cult claiming that dysfunctional Third World cultures are the equal of America’s Western-derived culture.
Neo-Com – A neo-communist. A follower of the mutated communism (political correctness) derived from the Frankfurt School.
Normaphobe – One who hates everything normal.
P.C. Poodle—An exponent of political correctness programmed to bark (like one of Pavlov’s dogs) at opponents. Common barks are “racist,” “bigot,” and “xenophobe.”
Race Card Shark – One who tries to bite others with dishonest accusations of racism (the race card).
Raza Nazi – A Latino supremacist who attacks immigration law enforcement to enhance the political and social clout of his group. Variation: Razi.
Sprawlaholic – A developer addicted to endless growth and sprawl.
Summer Fly – One lacking love of heritage, usually for the sake of claiming sophistication. Derived from Edmund Burke’s observation that those without ties to past and future generations are like the “flies of summer” who live only for a season and die. Variation: Fly Guy.
Tolerance Taliban – Advocates of “tolerance” who wish to force everyone to be as “tolerant” as they are.
Treason Lobby – The collection of pro-illegal alien advocacy groups whose efforts undermine American sovereignty and the significance of American citizenship.
Wrong Winger—The name of one, by implication, who is hostile to right wingers, i.e., those who support nationhood against globalism.
Xenophile: One with an excessive love of foreigners. For synonym: See Alienist.

Taryton:
WAIDS is a pretty shrewd name for the infection you’ve discovered. If only the disease were “lethal” - or at least made its victims grow two heads or something.

“Leukophobia” would be fear or hatred of anything white. May I suggest “Leukoanthrophobia,” fear or hatred of white people?

It is possible to derive many useful neologisms based on the Greek melas (‘black’, for the Negrid race), leukos (‘white’, for the Europid race), xanthos (‘yellow’, for the Asian Mongolid race), erythros (‘red’, for the American Mongolid race), philia (‘love’), phobia (hatred), and oid (‘similar to’). For instance:
melophilia or melanophilia - excessive love of blacks. The term ‘negrophilia’ has also been suggested, but I think it may with propriety be rejected as a barbarous hybridism.
xanthophilia - excessive love of Asians
melaleukosis - Negroid-Europid miscegenation
xantholeukosis - Asian Mongolid-Europid miscegenation
Concerning racial Trivialnamen, I would suggest the following:
The Melanoid race - the Negroid race
The Leukoid race - the Europid race
The Xanthoid race - the Asian Mongolid race
The Erythroid race - the American Mongolid race
And, best of all:
Chromonoid - the coloured (nonwhite) races in general
The term ‘Mongoloid’ could be used to comprehend both the ‘Xanthoid’ and the ‘Erythroid’ races.

Mr. Jobling must be awarded points for precision. But, as he noted, the problem with this type of term is that nobody knows what it means. Sure, that can be changed. But the best way to bring a term into common usage is for a number of writers to use it.
Actually there is such a term: hesperophobia. I don’t have time to do the research now, but I’ve seen this term, denoting fear of the West or Westerners, used by several different authors. Additionally, this term would meet all of Mr. Jobling’s objections. It has one additional advantage in precision. The Left doesn’t hate all whites; they hate Western whites. For example, there are whites living in Muslim countries ranging from Morocco and Albania, all the way to Afghanistan. But these whites don’t share the same hatred from the Left that we in the West do.
Hesperophobia.

Dunnyveg,
I considered “Hesperophobia” here. You may be right that it’s the better name, though.

Some related thoughts:
Are we really xenophobic or just xenoepidromic (fearful of invasion)?
We are not afraid of foreigners, per se, any more than the Hawaiians were prior to World War II. But we are justifiably afraid of invasion and the fact that our federal government has done next to nothing to resist the invasion of 20 million illegal aliens who have broken through our borders and caused us endless harm.
Do not let anti-American liberals call you xenophobic without immediately correcting them. They are phobic of their own nation, history and culture and need to take their anti-masochistic meds.
You could call our enemies ‘autophobic’, but we already call them ‘self-loathing’.
Then again, there is Caucasophobia — the Accepted Racism http://gatesofvienna.blogspot.com/2006/10/caucasophobia-accepted-racism.html

Mr. Jobling,
You make interesting comments, and I understand your position on hesperophobia. I’m certainly no expert on language, but it’s been my experience that when dealing with the public at large that connotation will trump denotation every time. I offer the term myth as an example. Denoted, a myth is a story or narrative that serves as a sort of intermediary between the mundane and the transcendent, the validity of which can be neither confirmed nor denied. Connoted, however, a myth is anything that is not true. And the latter is by far the more important definition for the public at large.
John,
I agree with everything you say. I think the larger lesson to be gleaned from your thoughts is that we can’t win as long as the liberals (i.e., hesperophobes? leukophobes?) are firmly in control of the language.
* * *
But I suspect this conversation is largely academic since the public at large probably will not appreciate such subtle distinctions.
I personally am very appreciative of one of our most cherished cultural traits: rugged individualism. I live where my closest neighbor is over a mile away because I don’t want people telling me what to do, think, or believe. But individualism should defer to the common good when it becomes counterproductive. And this is a case in point. As convention is the essence of language, I will employ whichever term is most widely accepted. All are good provided they are understood and accepted.

I think hesperophobe is a better word for two reasons.
Firstly, it sounds better! (sorry Mr Jobling)
Secondly, it’s more inclusive, it describes an aversion to the West rather than to specifically white people (however close the correlation). This is important because many people are going to be more sympathetic to us if we’re defending the West rather than bringing race into a situation where we don’t necessarily need to. In most situations, whites aren’t being attacked directly as a race (that’s too blatant).
If appealing to white people’s racialist instincts really were an easy strategy in general, I hardly think the West would find itself in the dire straits it’s in. Most white people are going to feel a lot more comfortable defending their culture against hesperophobia than adopting any kind of racialist position where the attack upon them isn’t of an explicitly racist nature.
In those situations where whites are specifically being attacked as a race, we already have perfectly adequate words, - racist, bigot, hater etc!

One major problem with “leukophobia” is that the term needs explanation. We need a name that makes intuitive sense. I do not agree that a term for what we are up against should necessarily cover all conceivable opponents.
I like some of the names you used in your article a lot better such as “multicultist” and “racial authoritarian”.
I am torn between those two names, however. The advantage of “multicultist” is that it emphasizes the anti-scientific, cult-like nature of our enemies. The advantage of “racial authoritarian” is that it puts so called “liberals” on the defensive right from the start.
In light of our mission to present race realism as a (classical) liberal movement, I think I prefer “racial authoritarian”.
