Michelle Obama: The Heart of Blackness

By now, you’ve heard about Michelle Obama’s stunning statement on Tuesday: “For the first time in my adult lifetime, I’m really proud of my country.” Yesterday, I wrote a brief entry about this gaffe called They Don’t Come any Blacker than Michelle Obama. Why do I think the statement represents the essence of blackness? Let me explain.
Michelle made the reason for her statement clear in the rest of her speech. The sin of America is the exclusion of blacks, from which she and Barack have, in her own mind at least, bitterly suffered. The American educational establishment kept trying to exclude her by giving her standardized tests that she performed poorly on. The American political establishment kept trying to exclude Barack by “raising the bar” on his candidacy. In fact, Michelle has felt excluded ever since she was in college.
Now, of course, the claim of exclusion is not just false. It’s a total inversion of the truth. What the careers of Michelle and Barack show is that America has been willing to bend over backwards to include them, as well as the black population in general. Michelle could only get into Princeton and Harvard because the universities were willing to overlook her test scores in the name of affirmative action. An inexperienced first-term Senator who has nothing going for him except empty rhetoric about hope and change is a serious contender in this race only because Americans want to include blacks in their political life.
What is the mindset that produces this inversion of the truth? It is a blind and irreflective will to power that judges Michelle herself as the ultimate good and others as good or evil by the extent to which they are an advantage or disadvantage to her. Michelle, as the ultimate good, has never failed due to her own limitations as a human being. Rather, her failures are due to America’s personal grudge against her.
Standardized tests held Michelle back, so they are evil. The American educational establishment uses standardized tests, so it must be evil. The political establishment doubted Obama could put together an effective campaign organization, so it’s evil, too.
Only when America hands over the presidency to Barack will Michelle be proud of her country. Americans will finally prove themselves morally worthy by allowing Michelle to rule over them.
It’s this tendency to conflate personal interest and moral good that prompted me to designate Michelle’s statement as the heart of blackness. After all, we’ve seen it a million times before. Cops are likely to arrest blacks, so blacks think cops are evil. Banks are likely to refuse loans to blacks, so blacks think banks are evil. The Western canon doesn’t include any black authors, so “Hey, hey, ho, ho! Western culture’s got to go!” That the law, lending standards, and Western culture might be morally good things despite the fact that they don’t promote black interests is something blacks seem incapable of grasping.
A lot of people have talked about the narcissism implicit in Michelle’s statement. The conflation of personal interest and moral good is a pretty good definition of narcissism.
Whites have a basically different, and more accurate, grasp of the relationship between personal interest and moral good. Whites understand that what is good for them personally and the moral good are often, indeed usually, separate things. A typical white person can recognize, for example, that it may be a good thing for a society to have standardized tests even if he personally does not do well on them. Whites also recognize themselves as limited, fallible beings whose setbacks are often their own fault rather than the result of external malice. If blacks tend towards narcissism then, whites tend towards objectivity. Whites’ objectivity is related to their orientation towards the truth, which I discussed in my last article.
There are a lot of differences between whites and blacks, but it is their narcissism that I find to be blacks’ most shocking and alien quality. When I hear statements like Michelle’s, I find myself gaping before the heart of blackness.

John PM has offered an interesting, and indeed attractive, suggestion of letting the country experience just how bad this will be at a time when it is still possible to throw off this foolishness because there will still be a white majority. As tempting as this sounds, it is just too frightening on two accounts:
The damage done in four years of an Obama presidency will be extremely serious and will take generations to overcome. This is almost like suggesting that catching AIDS will stop sexual promiscuity in the future (maybe).
There is an unfortunately large number of white folks that are no brighter than the black folks and will vote with them, thus making the possibility of an effective black majority at this time a real consideration. Look at the fact that Wisconsin, a largely white state outside of Milwaukee, voted 60% in favor of Obama. That makes no sense at all, but it just happened even so. Stupidity is rampant!
We seriously have to hope that Obama is not elected. If he is, Michelle Obama will be the new Cabinet officer in charge of white misery.

The damage done in the next four years of any presidency will be serious and take generations to overcome. The current situation in politics is akin to the HIV virus, slowly destroying our immunities but not producing symptoms that the American people can readily notice. Obama would turn that into full blown raging AIDS were the disease affecting our culture would be hard to keep under wraps. Hopefully then we would begin taking our medicine, because if we wait, as under the first scenario, we will not have the strength left to fight anymore.
A largely white state outside of Milwaukee, voted 60% in favor of Obama. Maks perfect sense, those that have not been around blacks like them the most. Only when whites have been directly affected by the race issue do they begin to wake up. Perhaps Barrack Obamama can disseminate that wake up call in the national sense.

I think the Machiavellian suggestion that putting Obama in the White House (as a one term president) would a calamity worth enduring if it brought the American people to their senses, has a lot going for it.
Such a “political experiment” probably would not purge liberal guilt - which has helped to give Obama and his wife their unjustifiable head start in the material prosperity stakes - but it might produce a severe reality check for the untutored multitude who helped to elect such a preposterous windbag.

To Dr. D, Henry Stanton, and Alex,
I find it interesting that I got three responses to my post, two favorable and one horrified by my suggestion. I personally would be sickened if this mulatto sophist were to become president; however, I think that Henry makes a very good point in noting that any of the current three top contenders for the White House, would be unmitigated disasters for this country. The only appeal of the Red Queen Hillary, is that she is nominally white, even though she has practiced “miscegenation” being married to the “first black president;” and Comrade Weasel, John McCain, who also is nominally white, would probably keep the military strong and continue the War on Terror. Domestically, I think all three of these multicultural fools will stink. They will all continue the process of selling out this country via immigration and globalization, and doing their “best” to destroy whites demographically.
In the end, as much as I will hate it, I will probably vote for Comrade Weasel. Since I do hold that fighting Muslim terrorism is a necessity and a strong military is of paramount importance, I will do my duty at the ballot box, no matter how odious it is to me. Personally, I think the country will come to its senses and Comrade Weasel will be our next president anyway. He seems to have handled this New York Times nonsense well enough, and let’s face it, he is the most “experienced” of the sellouts. Moreover, simply because large numbers of white Democrats vote for Comrade Obama, doesn’t mean it will translate into whites as a whole doing the same; white Democrats are an inherently superficial and despicably feckless pack of wretches, who are incapable of rational thought. Comrade Weasel probably will have a nasty race with this Comrade Obama, but when all is said and done will get 57% to 62% of the white vote. That should be enough to secure the election for him. While that is appalling, if we survived Clinton and Bush, we will survive a McCain presidency too; hopefully, he will get a primary challenge of worth in 2012 and be out that year?
Who knows?
However, there is a part of me, that very darkly calculated Machiavellian and Richard III side to my sociopolitical thought process, that feels an Obama presidency would be just the dose of hard reality this country needs. As Alex puts it so well:

Just think about it, a typical affirmative action black Marxist with an arrogant sense of entitlement and a “silver tongue” as his only selling points, will have little hope other than being absurdly audacious in that office on Pennsylvania Avenue. He will attempt to provide “universal health care,” only to be shot down by the medical and insurance lobbies. He will attempt to end the war in Iraq, only to find that his fast pull out is militarily impossible. He will attempt an amnesty, only to find that if Curious George couldn’t get it, he won’t either. He and his wife will promote a hideously anti-white social agenda, that will see taxes increase and social expenditures skyrocket on nonwhites; all the while, he will be riding on a sea of expectations by whites to promote “racial healing,” and sinking in a whirlpool of impossible demands by blacks to make them “equal” and pay “whitey” back.
If America should be hit with another terrorist attack on the scale of 9/11, that will likely see him impeached? This will be because, he will seek to “negotiate” with the fanatic animals, only to see worse happen while doing so. Even if a military response is selected by him at some point, will it be possible? Will a military gutted to promote the “peace dividends” of Iraqi hostilities “ended,” be capable of a proper response?
No it won’t, nor will a “president” totally in over his head in leading a real country, a majority white country with a majority white legislative branch, into a “utopia” of multicultural Marxism.

Do you remember that poster from Amren that ended every post with “Worse is Better”? I wonder what happened to him and if his opinion on an Obama win would be worse is better.
John McCain, would keep the military strong and continue the War on Terror. I am probably in disagreement with you on this issue. My fear is of the enemy within rather than the one at the gate. Reading about the current state of the muslim infiltration of England confirms this for me. Why haven’t we had another 9/11? Perhaps the infiltration strategy is working too well to rock the boat with an attack.
As far as keeping the miltary strong the Iraq occupation is taking a toll on the military. Can we continue for decades? This too is gutting the military.
It has been said that McCain is the worse candidate except for all the rest. Perhaps he will change for the better after taking office. I know that Obama won’t.

I think Ian has some solid points here, but paints blacks with too broad a brush.
Whenever we generalize and point out unflattering trends, tendencies, and patterns in nonwhite groups, we should take pains, however tedious and obvious it may seem, to say that we are not universalizing; that some do not fit the pattern.
After all, a major goal of this site is to find an effective way to reach the non-converted.

In respect to protecting America from Islamic terrorists, what sense does it make to fight them in Iraq and Afghanistan while nothing is done to seal our borders or even to end or restrict Muslim immigration.

This may be hard for you to believe, but I am a Black person that did above well on the standardized test as well as attain a high GPA(3.8 sophmore year,4.0 junior and senior year) as well as take Advanced Placement classes and Honors. And as the Black son of a Black cop, I can personally attest to knowing a large percentage of law abiding Blacks don’t hate cops, we just hate the few bad apples that make the whole bad,especially considering there have been drives to diversify the police force to counter charges of racism. How do you know what Michelle Obama was talking about when she said “for the first time in my life I’m proud to be American”? How do you know she was referring to racial issues? She could be referring to the many dirty tricks of US foreign policy such as the trade imbargo put on Iraq after the first Gulf War that starved millions by Clinton, or the many “accidental deaths” in Afganistan or Iraq from our so-called “smart” bombs, or the tens of millions displaced in Iraq in our goal to “liberate” iraq? Or is that your blatant white supramecy makes it impossible for a black people to care about anything other than their own self-interest? In all,Americans, white and black,middle-class or poor, have alot to be ashamed of.

Taxonomists place very little emphasis on skin colour in the classification of zoological species and subspecies. They place more emphasis on gross morphology, behaviour, and genetics. And that is where race differences are most striking, not in mere skin colour.

First, I would like to apologize for not writing back quicker, but I was somewhat busy and strained this weekend. Thus, my posts ending on Friday were it, up until today.
Second, I would like to note that you make some good points above, particularly in your concluding paragraph. We don’t know if Comrade McCain will improve over time; however, we do know that Comrade Obama will not. Never in a million years, will that worthless darling of the media and the other simpering “tolerance” mongers, ever be more than a Barbie doll with a tan, and a gift for “inspirational” sophistry. Again, the mirthfully (and darkly) calculating Machiavelli in me, would see it as a possible positive to have the mulatto amateur in the White House. Just witnessing two lifelong multiculturalists like Comrades Clinton and McCain, hoist on their own rainbow petards, might be worth it.
However, I have to rationally give up on such childish amusements beyond speculations, in the long run.
We both know that McCain is an arrogant and whiney weasel, a pathetic racial traitor and political harlot. But at least he has never been photographed in a turban. And, I do believe that he will at least attempt to end the war in Iraq within the confines of reasonable inputs, from the military. He will also pursue the larger war on terrorism through military practicalities, as opposed to trying to “negotiate” it to a conclusion within the parameters dictated by those who follow, the “religion of peace.”
In the end, for better or worse, I will vote for the candidate that I think will have the best “national security” policies and positions, since that is all I am going to get this time around.

It’s not just race. If it were, we could easily substitute the words “Condoleeza Rice” for “Michelle Obama”, punched in the name of her partner “Randy Bean” where the words “Barack Obama” appear, and offend the neocons as you have attempted to offend liberals.

If your assertions are true, especially those laid out here and in “the reality of racial differences”, it would seem that cross breeding these different races would truly result in superior human stock, no? The resulting human subjects would be better at sports (from the Negro gene donations), better at math (from the Asian donations), and better at, well, whatever field caucasians excel.
Would this new genetically bred group of humans not exceed your own race’s theoretical genetic limits, athletically, musically, intellectually, physically, sexually?
If so, could you then still claim racial superiority?

The cultural and biological preservation of the white race is not justified on the grounds of white ‘superiority’ but on the grounds of white distinctiveness.

That does not follow. Although it is true that blacks have an advantage in sport because of the unique constitution of their bodies, the same physical characteristics that give them an athletic advantage leave them at a disadvantage in other areas. There is, for example, a reason why whites and Asians evolved wider hips, even though this reduced running efficiency. It is because they evolved larger brains. Larger brains required larger female pelvises. You propose to breed a new race of man, a race possessing the advantageous physical qualities of blacks and the high cognitive capacity of whites and Asians. But the new race would require the narrow hips of black men and the high encephalisation of white and Asian men, would it not? And this would have injurious effects on childbirth.
Furthermore, your new breed of man would probably have an IQ roughly intermediate between ‘Eurasians’ and Negroids. Since whites and Asians have approximately the same average IQ, your new breed would be about as intelligent as Mullatoes. How do whites and Asians benefit by reducing their average IQ?
You could make a better case for white-Asian hybridisation, but here the advantage would be very slight and confined to IQ. Asians have an average IQ of 103. (The unusually high IQ in Hong Kong appears to be due to selective migration effects, and in any case the average IQ of Hong Kong does not appreciably effect the average IQ of the East Asian people as a whole, which averages 103.) Do you believe that having an IQ intermediate between 100 and 103 would outweigh the adverse effects of racial hybridity (cultural, social, moral, etc.)?

I know your post was directed to Taryton but can’t help myself (as I’m disturbed, LOL),
Inverted Reality: Whites, far up the social ladder, complain how “Diversity” and affirmative action hurt them while living in their uppercrust neighborhood and haven’t seen a Black person outside of the news/movies.
Reality: You are describing the elites and they could care less about whites. They have the luxury of not caring. We who are concerned about diversity have seen it up close and firsthand. there is a huge misconception about the word pride; and it is pathetic to see how people would use the word so inappropriately in a desperate attempt to partially own the accomplishments of others. first of all, racial pride is ridiculous; racial acceptance is great, but racial pride is meaningless. first of all, the race to which one belongs is not a result of one’s conscious efforts. one does not work toward becoming blacks or whites; and the idea of feeling great about successful individual whites as if those accomplishments were racially owned is equally ridiculous. do we know that a black man has much more in common biologically and psychologically with a white man than they each have with women of of their particular race? In other words, it would be more legitimate for a black man to feel pride about the accomplishments of Einstein than for a Julia to express the same pride. What i am trying to say is that one can only be proud of the success of things and people to which and to whom one has contributed. I do not understand how the works of Einstein reflect on the existential worth of a trailer-park dweller in Kentucky?

The point in dispute here is whether or not we can legitimately take pride in accomplishments that are not our own. I believe that we can. For the individual is not self-sufficient. It is the collective and historical context in which the individual is immersed that enables him to contribute to civilisation. A man born in the wilderness without human contact is reduced to a savage.
The thoughts and deeds of our ancestors structure our lives. The individual is born into civilisation and brought up in the customs and traditions of his forebears. The individual achieves practically nothing as the result of his own mental efforts. His very thoughts are rarely his own. The social and historical context in which the individual is immersed structures every aspect of his life, from his standard of living to his own thought processes.
The collective is prior to the individual, and collective pride should therefore take precedence over individual pride.

Einstein was a participant in a socially and historically situated practice. In this case, physics. He was a member of a group working towards a historically situated telos.

I hate blackness and I can say that with impunity and good conscience. Blackness is not a gene, it is not a race, it is mindset and a very negative one at that. No one is born black, some people choose to be black because they don’t want to be the best they can be, and when people choose to live that kind of life discrimation is what they deserve to get. That is why Clarence Thomas is not black and Bill Clinton is, and that is why it is not dehumanizing to discriminate againt blackness.

Blackness is a gene, it is a race, that creates a certain mindset and a very negative one at that. Some people choose to fight and leave this mindset (like an alcoholic will fight drinking) they don’t want to be the worst that they can be, and when people choose to live that kind of life success is what they deserve to get. Other races will inexplicably choose to mimic this mindset against their very nature. That is why Clarence Thomas deserves high praise and Bill Clinton scorn.

Playing Machiavelli here, I would propose that maybe that is exactly why it might be a silver lining in the current dark cloud of multicultural candidates left available to us, if that fool Comrade Obama did win the election in November? It would be an omen to white America, of just what life will be like under the “benevolent” rule of nonwhites when they are a minority, and can never change that situation through the ballot box again? Or put another way, it would give them a taste of multicultural utopia at a time when they can react to it and prevent it from ever becoming a permanent reality, because they still retain a sizable majority.
