Law Student, a frequent commenter and a dedicated activist, just wrote in pledging that he would send all the e-mails that I posted in my action alerts. I’d like to know how many of the rest of you are willing to take the same pledge. Of course, your commitment does not have to be as absolute as Law Student’s. I understand that some activists will have problems with some of the e-mails that I post. So, I’ll tone it down: judging from the action alerts I’ve posted so far, do you think it likely that you will want to participate in most of my e-mailing campaigns? Answering this question will help me know where we stand.
So far, the following people have either indicated or implied that they will be willing to send most of the e-mails, so they don’t need to write me unless they are not willing to take the pledge.
Others should either leave a comment below or send me a private e-mail if you wish to take the pledge.
Thanks to all of you who have sent the e-mails. The House of Representatives, the Senate, Union Theological Seminary, and several blue-chip corporations have now been notified that the world is inverted. If enough of us get behind this effort, the world will have to start taking notice.

I understand ” The journey of a 10000 miles begins with one footstep”, i.e., you have to start somewhere. But is this web sites activism really putting the cart before the horse?
Should not we have more people that regularly visit the web site and agree with the truths here, before we join together in this type of activism? Is 3 or 12 or 19 people enough? But then again when is enough? Just some questions to throw out there.

David M,
I agree with you that this site will need more traffic before we can wage effective activism campaigns. However, the flaw in your analysis is that providing action alerts has actually proved an effective way of increasing web traffic.
Web traffic is difficult to measure, but statistics indicate the traffic to this site is stronger than you might suspect. Let me give you some statistics. Every time you access a web page, you send a unique IP address to the server. Web statistics programs count the number of IP addresses to gauge traffic. So far this month 11,520 IP addresses have requested a page on this website.
That means this month has already seen the most traffic ever. In fact, traffic for this month will be about 25% higher than it was last month, which also set a record. I attribute the increase in large part to the action alerts, as these have been the only recent change in the website.
Now, of course the IP address figure does not mean this website has 11,520 dedicated fans. That figure includes all the people who accessed the website as a result of Google searches, as well as search engine robots and robots that spam the comment sections of the site with advertisements for Viagra and pornography.
Drilling down a little, I find that about 500 IP addresses have requested a web page ten times or more in the last two months and 1,200 five times or more. This analysis no doubt underestimates repeat traffic because it does not take dialup users into account, as they do not have static IP addresses—their IP address is different with every new dialup session. Also, people on the same computer or on the same network only have one IP address.
So, I would say, at a conservative estimate, this site has attracted 500 fans and 1,200 interested parties. That makes it a minor website, without a doubt, but not a negligible one. Moreover, traffic is growing all the time.
By the way, if any of you are experts at interpreting web traffic stats, I’d appreciate any input.

Yes, I pledge to participate in most of your e-mail campaign.
